Robert Llewellyn of Fully Charged describes the Polestar 2 as a Tesla ‘accomplice’ - finally, something that can match Tesla’s mega-popular Model 3.

We’d describe it as the ‘thinking-man’s Tesla’. On paper, this is very close match for the Tesla Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor, but in fact is quite a different proposition, but equally capable and desirable. It certainly feels more luxurious and European in feel, being very close to a Volvo or BMW rather than the minimalist Tesla Model 3.

The 78Kwh battery is the largest offered by Polestar, and the Dual motors provide 300Kw/408HP for incredible acceleration! The base model car is already well-specified with interior ambient lighting, power hatchback, heated front seats, dual zone climate control, keyless entry (including phone as key), and semi-electric seats. The Pilot pack on this car gives Pixel LED headlights, cornering foglights, 360 degree cameras, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with lane keeping, similar to Tesla’s Autopilot.

150Kw charging with CCS offers extremely fast charging at public chargers, and you of course have access to select Tesla Superchargers, meaning that long-distance driving is a breeze.

This is a beautiful and very well-specified car that is extremely hard to find in the current market.
